Description:

Executive Security is seeking a professional Patrol Officer for an opening in our Patrol division. ESS operates a mobile security patrol services that check our clients various properties in a marked company vehicle several times per night. A highly visible marked company vehicle is provided.

Shift Hours are Friday through Sunday (1830-2230) Monday & Tuesday 1730 -2230). This schedule is set and can not be modified. Applicants must be available to work the specified days of the week as listed in this posting or as requested.

This rotation schedule is a normal operating schedule and you will be given your schedule a week in advance. 

Familiarity with the greater Austin area is a plus .

Duties:

-Patrols assigned area on foot, or in motor vehicle, as assigned, to ensure personal, building, and equipment security.

-Examines doors, windows, and gates to ensure security; uses client keys to open and close buildings; monitors closed buildings for unauthorized persons and/or suspicious activities.

-Informs and warns violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.

-Provides escort services as necessary.

-Watches for and reports irregularities, such as security breaches, facility and safety hazards, and emergency situations; contacts emergency responders, such as police, fire, and/or ambulance personnel as required.

-Remains alert for the presence of unauthorized persons and/or security code violators; approaches suspicious persons and/or notifies police as appropriate; may confront violators, as required, until police arrive.

-Performs periodic checks of safety equipment and lighting to ensure proper functioning; reports malfunctions as required.

-Prepares routine, standardized reports and notifications to the client.

-May provide specialized security in complex operational areas, requiring specific knowledge of the operating environment.

-Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Before being given an assignment, all of must meet the following requirements:

-At least 25 years of age or older as required by auto insurance carrier requirements. 

-High school diploma/ GED. 

-Ability to provide proof of ability to work in the United Sates.

-At least one verifiable employer.

-Ability to read, write and speak English and communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

 -Ability to interact with the public in a direct and professional manner.

-Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

-No felony convictions or criminal history that would impact ability to perform the duties of the position or that would pose an unreasonable risk to Executive Security employees, clients or the general public.

-Ability to provide quality customer service daily as well as handle crisis situations efficiently and effectively at a client site.

-Must be able to obtain and maintain a security officer registration through the DPS Private Security Bureau during course of employment. ESS can assist with state mandated licensure.

-Must be drug free. Commissioned Officers are randomly selected for testing.

-You must have the ability to get to and from work by a means of reliable transportation.

-Applicants must have flexibility to work any shift and weekends as required.

-Driving positions require ability to safely operate a manual transmission vehicle, a valid Texas drivers' license and a verifiable Texas driving history for the past 3 years. This is a driving position.

-ESS uses text and e-mail to communicate and generate reports to our clients, so having a basic knowledge of how to operate a mobile phone and sending text messages is preferred. We will provide indepth training on using our reporting systems.

State Mandated Licensing

If you currently hold a valid license, please bring it with you to the interview, if applicable. Transfer and new license fees may be required. In many cases, Executive Security Systems' staff can assist in processing your application to the appropriate state agency and, licensing fees can be paid through payroll deduction.

Appearance

Men- conventional haircut, a natural color, collar length in the back, less than half the ear covered on the side. Neat, closely trimmed and groomed beard and mustache (if allowed at a client site). No earrings or piercing to be worn while on duty.

Women- conventional haircut, a natural color; if shoulder length or longer, must be pulled back for safety. Post type earrings no larger than a dime may be worn. No other visible piercing while on duty.

Executive Security Systems will make reasonable accommodations for appearance for religious reasons in accordance with state and federal law.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

-Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.

-Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.

-Ability to detect problems and report information to appropriate personnel.

-Ability to complete routine paperwork
