Description:

Southern Energy Management, North Carolina’s leading provider of sustainable energy solutions, is seeking full-time Commercial Electrical Foremen to work with our fast-growing Solar team. We are looking to fill this position in our Charlotte and Morrisville, NC offices. Responsibilities include scheduling, supervising and ensuring the safety and productivity of crews on the workforce who install/assemble components of industrial products and structures. The Foreman will act as a management liaison and a key participant in the relationship with the prime contractor, SEM and the client. A strong commitment to sustainable energy and dedication to the mission of SEM is a must.

Job Duties:

• Confers with and directs construction personnel in the execution of construction procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction.
• Inspects work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and the adherence to construction schedules.
• Prepares or reviews reports on progress, materials used, costs and adjusts work schedules as indicated by reports.
• Works well with construction crews, performing construction tasks.
• Assessing competency and capability of tradespersons; evaluating crew capability and benchmarking to others to ensure the crew meets required levels of quality.
• Communicating the job and assigning individual and crew tasks.
• Identifying training needs for the crew and facilitating delivery of that training.
• Setting and maintaining work standards and outlining behavioral expectations to ensure crew morale and productivity.
• Promoting, supporting and facilitating teamwork and harmony between all construction crews by fostering a positive attitude among crews.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

• OSHA 30 hour construction course
• Ability to effectively present and analyze data
• Minimum 3 years experience as Construction Foreman.
• Must have current Journeyman Card and experience in commercial construction
• Ability to handle physical demands
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Availability to work outside regular business hours
• Clean NC driver’s license with dependable transportation
