| Responsible for performing a variety of duties to assist the Internal Audit Director in maintaining the bank’s auditing program; coordinating work within the department, as well as with other departments; reporting pertinent information to the immediate supervisor; responding to inquiries or requests for information; assisting the immediate supervisor with administrative tasks to support department operations. |
Duties: |
1. Performs a variety of duties to assist the Internal Audit Director in maintaining the bank’s auditing program as follows:
a. Maintains a current knowledge of federal and state regulations and laws affecting the audit function to ensure the Bank’s compliance.
b. Consults with various levels of bank management regarding standards of control for operating systems.
c. Designs and prepares audit programs, i.e., reviews previous audits, researches available reference material, selects appropriate audit steps in order to write program.
d. Conducts audits for all departments and functions; documents all necessary information; submits to Internal Audit Director for review.
e. Provides instruction to staff at the outset of the audit and approves the audit plan; ensures that the approved audit program is carried out; determines that audit working papers adequately support the findings, conclusions, and reports.
f. Ensures completion of audit programs on a timely basis.
g. Tests and reviews various items to ensure the bank’s policies and procedures are being followed.
h. Discusses with appropriate levels of management the objectives and scope of audits to be performed, findings as the audits progress, and conclusions and recommendations as audits are finalized.
i. Analyzes audit results and prepares a report; obtains review by Director.
2. Abides by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the work place.
3. Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the company's compliance with all regulatory requirements, e.g. Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Equal Credit Opportunity Act, etc.
4. Coordinates specific work tasks with other personnel within the department as well as with other departments in order to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of information.
5. Reports pertinent information to the immediate supervisor as requested, or according to an established schedule; compiles information as necessary or as directed and provides data to appropriate bank personnel.
6. Responds to inquiries relating to his/her particular area, other bank personnel, etc.; within given time frames and within established policy.
7. Assists the immediate supervisor with various administrative tasks to support department operations, as directed; may also be assigned special projects.

Qualifications: |
Education/Training: A B.S. or B.A. degree in a related field of study normally required; specialized bank auditing education and training.
Skill(s): Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; demonstrated proficiency in interpreting, analyzing, and reporting financial information; proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills; communicates clearly in English; proficient PC skills; valid driver’s license; visual and auditory skills.
Experience: A minimum of five (5) years' experience in related positions normally required.
