Description: | PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Responsible for monitoring gplink which is a satellite-based tracking, monitoring, and notification system for Cat powered yachts and vessels
DIMENSIONS:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
• Monitor the tracking system as it plots yacht locations and monitors engines & critical systems which includes bilge and battery levels, power interruption, fire alarms and engine diagnostics – all while tracking the precise location of the vessel.
• Monitor the Geo-Fence function that allows vessel owners to set up a precise boundary area that their vessel should be operating or docked within. Responsible for notifying the owner immediately if there is any unauthorized movement of their vessel.
• Access any fault codes or operating conditions on vessels. Review alarm status, troubleshoot any engine conditions and potentially eliminate a service technician’s preliminary visit to the vessel.
• If a service visit is needed, communicate the diagnostic information to the closest Cat® service center and arrange for the mobile service visit to the vessel.
• Provide reports and monthly updates on what maintenance is coming due, any alarms received during the month, a complete engine diagnostic report and any important updates from the vessel’s manufacturer
• Receives immediate notification of any vessel alarms. Assess the alarm information and take immediate action, as required by the alarm in question
MINIMUM REQUIRMENTS:
Education:
High school graduate with four years similar customer service responsibilities, or technical school graduate in business, management or sales degree with at least two years of direct customer satisfaction relations experience; or college graduate with six months similar experience.
Work Experience:
Basic mechanical and product knowledge is desirable, preferably in the marine industry,
Physical:
Must be able to sit for long periods communicating clearly with customers mainly on the phone or by computer
Ability to read, understand and comprehend various business materials
Other:
Must be PC literate with intermediate MS Office software skill in Word and Excel
Must understand basic accounting bookkeeping activities and principles.
Must have superior patience, understanding and problem solving skills with an insight for details and ability to resolve issue with a strong sense of urgency.
Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing with internal and external customer groups including the ability to communicate professionally to yacht owners and captains.
Must be flexible and have the ability to accommodate change.
