Description: | PRIMARY FUNCTION:
This position is responsible for installing new and updated software and hardware to the servers at all the Gregory Poole locations. It also requires that the Active Directory be maintained and accurate for the user community. The position requires that the network be available to the users.
+NATURE AND SCOPE:
Clarify the magnitude and value of the position
i.e. total revenue, operating budget, payroll dollars, number of direct associates supervised, net profit, etc.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Install new and upgrades of software to the server farm by following established industry and departmental practices and procedures
Coordinates with outside vendors on hardware and software upgrades to make they follow established GPEC requirements
Develops and maintains the data integrity for the server farm
Develops and maintains documentation related to the server farm
Plans and manages projects by utilizing accepted project planning, management and reporting methods
Keeps all added peripherals in service on the network, and updated with current software.
Analyze network hardware and software to keep GPEC updated with current industry standards and new network features
Answer user questions on personal computer software, hardware and networking equipment
Keep abreast of new technology and business methodologies available from vendors by attending seminars, reviewing trade periodicals and the like.
Track and report time, status and related issues on projects and other activities by following information systems department work management systems procedures
UNIQUE DEPT. DUTIES

MINIMUM REQUIRMENTS:
Education:
Associate degree in Information Systems with Microsoft certifications; BA/BS IS degree preferred
Work Experience:
At least 2 years of direct IS/PC experience with working knowledge of Microsoft servers.
Physical:
Lifting objects weighing up to 40 pounds
Other:
Periodic travel to all branch locations in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. Overnight travel is required on some trips.
