About the Job

The Sales Representative position is responsible for generating revenue by closing sales of assigned new business opportunities for the Viewpoint Construction Software business. Success in this position requires the ability travel, prepare and present software demos, handle contract negotiations, and close new deals.

  1. Commercial construction industry knowledge: A successful candidate will have a good working knowledge of Specialty/Subcontractors' commercial construction company operations from an insider’s point-of-view. Our Construction Management software is an integrated solution that our clients use to monitor and track all Accounting and Project Management operations.
  2. Software Sales experience: A successful candidate knows the sales process, how to manage a pipeline, some business development activities (minor part of job – maybe 20%,) etc.
  3. Experience: We’re looking for mid-level candidates who are driven to succeed, passionate about the construction industry and know the Southern territory.

Typical candidates who have been successful in this role will have sold or worked with similar products, like: Timberline, Prolog, Spectrum, Expedition, Great Plains, eCMS, CMiC, Oracle and SAP.

This position requires up to 50% travel. Candidates must be willing and able to meet travel requirements. A valid driver’s license and ability to qualify for a US Passport are required. Also required is the ability to qualify for a company credit card or possession of a personal credit card with sufficient limits to charge travel expenses.


Duties:

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Manage the sales process and develop attack plans for a diverse group of assigned new business opportunities.
  2. Effectively manage a sales pipeline and achieve sales targets and forecasts.
  3. Prepare clear, concise, and professional proposals to prospective and existing customers.
  4. Respond to RFI’s (Request for Information) and RFP’s (Request for Proposal).
  5. Provide regular reports on sales activities, results and forecast.
  6. Provide market feedback and accurate forecasting to the management team to optimize strategy and positioning of offerings.
  7. Provide product demonstrations, both web-based and on-site.
  8. Close contract deals.
  9. Attend trade shows and industry conventions.
  10. Assist with after-sale issues within Viewpoint’s customers based including collections, training/implementation, software functionality, etc.
  11. Participate in Business Development Activities. Build awareness about Viewpoint products and services within a group of assigned construction firms. Awareness building is achieved through phone contacts, mailings, meetings and software presentations.


Qualifications:

The accomplishments you need to do this job well are:
  • Core understanding and working knowledge of the construction industry, specifically the Specialty/Sub market.
  • Proven record in a prior sales position that would demonstrate a strong working knowledge of the product being sold.
  • Strong sales skills including the ability to manage and close deals, build and maintain relationships, and to consistently meet and exceed annual sales quotas established for the position.
  • Ability to quickly develop and maintain a high level of knowledge of divisional software products and remain expert on current product knowledge.
  • Familiarity with the sales and business development processes; passionate and motivated to sell.

Preferred, but not required are:
  • Experience selling enterprise software.
  • General business knowledge and understanding of accounting and project management principles and practices.
  • Basic knowledge of computers and standard Microsoft software.
