Description: |
The Geneva Foundation is currently recruiting for a Clinical Research Psychologist with some Project Director responsibilities for a study being conducted at Womack Army Medical Center, NC.
The proposed study will evaluate the efficacy of Virtual Reality Exposure Therapy (VRET) by comparing it to a Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE) and a Waitlist (WL) group in the treatment of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) in Active Duty (AD) Soldiers with combat-related trauma. Physiological arousal, patient satisfaction with treatment, stigma toward seeking behavioral health services, and treatment compliance will also be explored.

Duties: |
Principal duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Research Study Responsibilities:
•Perform psychological and physiological assessments of service members, and be involved in clinical treatment using exposure therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy techniques
•Provide support to PI and research team by data gathering, collection and analysis, preparation of publications, and preparation and presentation of results via papers and national meetings
•Performs duties necessary to comply with and implement research study protocol
•Manages study budget and complies with Standard Operating Procedures of The Geneva Foundation as applicable
•Participates in the hiring, training and supervision of other research personnel as designated by the Principal Investigator
•Maintains a collaborative research environment between the PI, other site personnel, research participants, The Geneva Foundation and the funding organization
Directs the following research activities:
•Preparation for research study to include regulatory submission process
•Execution and maintenance of research study
•Management of study documentation
•Subject recruitment and enrollment
•Conduct follow-up of research subjects
•Collection of data and data entry process
•Preparation of interim and final progress reports
•Documentation of all correspondence and communication pertinent to the research
•Procurement of supplies and equipment as authorized per research budget guidelines
•Participates in the analysis of the data and the preparation of the manuscript, as applicable
•Maintains the security and confidentiality of all research records

Qualifications: |
Qualifications:
•Clinical Psychologist Licensed in NC State, required
•Ph.D in Clinical Psychology, required
•Completion of an APA approved degree program and internship, required
•Clinical or general research experience
•Project management skills and experience
•Demonstrated competence in oral and written communication
•Computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and email
Preferred Qualifications:
•Experience managing research projects
•Experience with Post Traumatic Stress Disorders
•Knowledge of exposure therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and biofeedback monitoring
•Knowledge of military system preferred |
