Description: | Manage existing and develop new small business relationships. Promote and market small business loans, SBA guaranteed loans, and deposit accounts to members and prospects. Cross sell other Altra Federal Credit Union (Altra) products and services. | Duties: | - Develops new business by calling on prospects and existing business accounts to develop new and retain existing business relationships that will further promote additional utilization of Altra services and business loans, and address relationship servicing issues. Willing to spend 80% of day on business development with existing members and prospects.
- Participate in community affairs such as the Chamber of Commerce, service clubs, etc. in order to increase Altra's visibility and to enhance new business opportunities.
- Consults with and interviews members and prospects about their financial goals and needs and identifies and promotes Altra's business products, loans, and services to best meet those needs.
- Identify and collect necessary financial data and related information to support loan request. Provide needed commentary and supplemental information necessary for credit analyst to complete a loan review of that information.
- Review the credit request, make recommendations, approves loans within specified authority, or present requests to Business Lending Manager and/or Business Loan Committee when appropriate.
- Establish & negotiate loan terms and structure with members, including fees, interest rate, repayment options, collateral, and other terms with in established guidelines or specified authorities.
- Serves as a relationship manager for business members who are non-borrowing or utilizing other Altra products other than Business Lending products to included Merchant Credit Card Processing, Altra deposit products, etc.
- Work to improve SEG relationships and SEG growth with the guidance of Business Development Officer - Small Business Manager.
| Qualifications: | 1. Bachelors Degree in business, finance, and/or marketing preferred.
2. Two years sales experience selling financial services, consulting services, banking services and/or business services.
3. Business/Consumer credit knowledge, and/or commercial banking background is a plus.
4. Ability and willingness to travel within Altra's field of membership.
5. Comfortable and motivated by commission based selling structure with a base salary.
6. Highly motivated and detail orientated.
7. Superior business development and relationship building skills.
8. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
9. Working knowledge including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Internet.
10. Good knowledge of Credit Union policies and procedures. |
