Description: Selected candidate will perform mechanical duties with minimal supervision. Apply troubleshooting techniques and determine proper repair procedures on all assigned work orders. Disassemble, inspect, determine parts needed, and reassemble to factory specifications. Perform operational tests on engines including road testing of the truck. Interpret and utilize information from Operating, Maintenance, and Service Manuals/Bulletins. Prepare parts requisitions, time cards, part returns, accurate and complete service reports, and other necessary reports and forms
Must have high school diploma or equivalency as well as technical training and 6+ years of relevant experience, ASE Certifications in various aspects of technical repair.
Verifiable Ford PowerStroke and 6.0 Engine Experience a MUST to be considered for this position. Ideal candidate will have prior experience at a Ford Automotive Dealership.
II. PHYSICAL STANDARDS:
Shop Activity- Must be able to daily and repeatedly stoop, kneel, bend and climb beside, onto and underneath various equipment to perform diagnosis and repairs. Must be able to effectively see to perform repairs, research technical manuals, and develop written repair work order reports. Must be able to routinely and physically lift/position various parts to perform repairs/service and manually handle parts up to 50 pounds, as well as use mechanical hoist for heavier parts.
III. OTHER STANDARDS:
Educational- Must have a high school education or GED and be able to effectively read technical manuals and written instructions. Must be able to effectively write repair activities on customer work orders. Must have cognitive reasoning and problem solving skills to apply knowledge, written information and verbal instructions in repairing/servicing unusual and/or unknown technical equipment operational problems. Should have exposure to P.C. base equipment and parts information.
