Gift Shop Sales Associate

Description:

Efficiently and effectively process sales transactions in the Gift Shop and on the casino floor according to Gift Shop Policies and Guidelines. Responsibilities include operating a cash register, and completion of sales transactions. Duties include providing superior customer service as you personally greet and assist clients in making purchases, maintaining a clean, safe and well-stocked sales floor. May be required to work under limited supervision.

Duties:

•Open and close cash registers, counting money, and balancing cash drawers.
•Knowledge of Gift Shop specials and promotions.
•Answer questions regarding merchandise for sale.
•Rotational duties will include working register in the gift shop and walking out on the casino floor for merchandise sales.
•Applies positive communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with guests, (internal and external) at all times.
•Ensures compliance with policies and procedures, Gaming Commission regulations, and internal controls.
•A minimum of 3 years money handling, customer service and retail experience
•Effective communication and interpersonal skills, particularly when dealing with escalated customer issues or in the role of team leader
•High degree of self-motivation, goal-orientation and commitment to quality customer service
•Ability to use computers, 10-key, electronic cash registers and other equipment
•High school diploma or GED
•Supervisory experience preferred
•Instructs in operation procedures, policies and guest relations.
•Develops pricing and evaluates regularly to ensure guests’ needs are met.
•Ensures excellent quality product and service is delivered.
•Maintains excellent grooming and personal conduct according to Soboba Casino standards.

•Act as a team member to the department and to each other, as a support system, cooperating on department and company projects and assignments, including conducting best practices for working with each other, the department and the company.
•Maintain a high level of organization, including maintaining an orderly and neat work area and worksite, as well as organized work activities, with the highest levels of productivity in performing daily job tasks within the scheduled work day.
•Maintain a high degree of professionalism in the workplace, including standards for appropriate dress and appearance, respect for each team member, satisfactory attendance, open communication, job knowledge, a desire to succeed, and in all activities where you represent the Department through trust, productivity, confidentiality, and the highest levels of customer service.
•Act as a department champion, promoting the department’s and company services and functions to other employees, other departments, vendors, applicants and others who visit the department and property.
•Be responsive, accountable and provide feedback to management inquires for information, clarification, suggestions or observations regarding operational, staffing, mentoring, customer service, personal development and productivity.
•Serve as a team member of the Soboba Band of Luiseno Indians, following the code of conduct, displaying the highest level of ethics and integrity in action, thoughts and conduct.
