Description:

Primary Responsibility Under the direct supervision of the Lead Operator and reporting to the Plant Lead, the Production Operator is responsible for ensuring production targets are met within safety, quality, cost and delivery guidelines. Additionally, this position requires demonstrable capabilities which allow the incumbent to meet expected production goals, to work safely and to manage several operations or tasks at the same time.

Duties:

Major Duties:

• Be aware of production goals and work to meet those goals as directed
• Operate the plant process areas according to company procedures.
• Understand and cohesively work towards achieving the plant performance measures
• Monitor and record all required production data.
• Demonstrate awareness of existing workplace hazards and have the ability to assess and respond to potentially unsafe situations.
• Understand and commit to following all Environmental, Health, and Safety procedures and practices. Intervene when required.
• Complete required ongoing annual and job specific training as required and on time.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment as directed or per MTL.
• Communicate with engineering and maintenance staff as required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Lifting: Frequent lifting between 50-75 lbs
• Pushing: Frequent pushing between 75-100 lbs - assisted
• Pulling: Frequent pulling between 75-100 lbs - assisted
• Standing: Most of the shift, except for breaks and meals
• Walking: Most of the shift, except for breaks and meals
• Agility: Must be able to get on and off forklift using 3 points of contact and be able to steer and handle driving a forklift; climb stairs – two levels, 10-15x/shift
• Fine Motor: Must be able to use touch screen and keyboard for data input; Must be able to operate machine controls
• Mobility: Must be able to reach above head; must be able to crouch and bend over
• Equipment usage: Must be able to use shovel; move 55 gal drums, assisted
• Personal Protective Equipment

Pre-employment Physical: All newly-hired employees are required to take a pre-employment physical to determine their fitness for duty. Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

1-3 years experience in manufacturing or chemical environment that operated under ISO/QS-9000 or similar regulatory requirements Forklift experience required, certification preferred.
• Must have a High School diploma or equivalent
• Must be able to communicate in verbal and written English
• Must be computer literate or able to become proficient as required
• Must be in 50 mile commute to East Providence, Rhode Island
•
• Experience working with self-directed teams
• Must be able and available to work 12-hour shifts; 4 days on/ 4 days off
• Must be able and available to work in a 24 / 7 / 365 environment
