Description: | | Perform all teller functions as well as solve problems and help with complex work-related matters. Guide and advise tellers in the efficient handling of member needs. Responsible for the supervision of the teller area in absence of Branch Supervisor. | Duties: | Ensure that staff are trained and cross-trained in all phases of their particular jobs to ensure quality service to members.
Approve exceptions to check cashing policies and check hold policies up to $25,000.00.
Maintain adequate supplies on cash line.
Maintain knowledge of all state and federal regulations that are applicable to the transactions performed in the teller area.
Serve as vault teller for the credit union, to include ordering cash from the Federal Reserve, verifying cash shipments, filling teller cash orders, maintaining vault security, and balancing vault cash nightly.
Approve member exceptions and authorize service fee refunds to members when necessary.
Oversee proper availability of daily cash and travelers checks for the credit union.
Investigate teller losses and institute corrective flow of work.
Oversee work schedules for full-time and part-time employees in the teller area to ensure proper service to the membership.
Assist in ATM balancing and stocking machines.
Assist in regular audits on vault and cash drawers.
Open, close and ensure operations of the cash department alternating with the Branch Supervisor/Manager.
Assist with the preparation of daily deposits to include filming, etc.
Operate a cash drawer at least 2/3rds of each day.
Back up the Branch Supervisor in all cash functions.
| Qualifications: | Two years of experience in a teller capacity.
Knowledge/ability to sell credit union products and guide staff in meeting sales goals. Ability to soothe irate members, make decisions, communicate with the members’ quickly and accurately in a pleasing manner.
Ability to work effectively as a team member.
Ability to train staff members in all areas of the cash department.
Must be able to resolve teller imbalances and work under minimal supervision. |
