Location: Green Valley Ranch Branch Library, 4856 N. Andes Court
Status/Schedule: Regular, part-time, 30 hours per week. This position will be scheduled according to the branch needs and may include evening and weekend hours. |
Duties: |
| Duties and Responsibilities: Creates positive experiences for library customers by storing, transporting and retrieving library materials according to the library's classification system so that library customers are provided with materials in a timely manner. Uses technology and other mechanical tools related to the processing of library materials. Supports the Library’s strategic initiatives of providing early literacy experiences to infants through preschoolers and developing school-age readers and life-long learners. |
Qualifications: |
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Skill in working with attention to detail. Skill in being organized and reliable. Ability to work quickly and accurately with numbers and letters. Ability to work in a physically demanding position with continuous lifting of objects that can weigh up to 25-50 pounds. Ability to work with people from all backgrounds and age groups. Ability to demonstrate positive attitude, excellent interpersonal skills, cultural sensitivity, and a sense of humor in working with customers, coworkers, and community. Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
Experience: No experience required. Spanish language skills preferred.
Education: No formal education required.
Special Requirements: Applicant must take a test showing skill in working quickly and accurately with numbers and letters before the application deadline in order to be considered by the hiring authority. Must be a self-starter and willing to work in an environment whose targeted audience includes children and their caregivers. A physical examination and background check must be passed after the offer to hire has been made.
