Job Title: Specialist, Technical Services
Reports To: Director, Technical Services

This is a full time position is working for our Client Company in the Indianapolis, IN

The company is a leading refiner and processor of specialty hydrocarbon products. This $3B company operates six plants, including operations in Northwest Louisiana, Pennsylvania Texas and Illinois
PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
This position is responsible for coordinating and resolving issues concerning product concerns and questions that are generated either by customers, Technical Services group or manufacturing.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum requirements: High School Diploma or GED, as well as a Bachelors Degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Biology or related field is required.

Duties:

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Support Technical Services Group by providing technical assistance and advice concerning products, practices, and processes
• Respond to customer inquiries concerning every aspect of products (behavior, purity, characteristics, handling, degradation, etc.)
• Coordinate customer requests and manufacturing capabilities to provide win/win situations for the customer and the Company. Coordinate steps necessary to introduce new products into the Company system.
• Provide regulatory information relative to all Company products
• Perform cGMP audits on "toll processors" and maintain an updated working knowledge of FDA requirements as they apply to Company's operation
• Develop product specifications
• Resolve customer complaints/concerns in all areas including product performance or quality
• Serve on various teams intended to develop/improve products/processes
• Help develop and maintain all MSDS's for company
• Host audits conducted by customers, evaluate audit responses, and coordinate resolution to audit findings. Relay this information to customer and follow-up
• Perform internal quality audits, external supplier audits

Qualifications:

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
• Thorough knowledge of processing as it relates to manufacture of all Company Products. This would be complemented by basic refining knowledge.
• Thorough product knowledge as it relates to companys products, performance, and application. This should include a good understanding of laboratory procedures.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written
• Negotiation/Mediation skills to resolve issues/problems
• Ability to work with teams, small groups, or as an individual with flexibility to maintain objectivity in confrontational situations
• Knowledge of computers as well as required software or hardware packages
• Flexibility to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and follow each to completion
• Personal Care market and/or formulation experience preferred
• Hands on client services or customer service experience required
