Applications (Windows) Developer

GENERAL PURPOSE AND PRIMARY DUTY:

As a member of the Applications Development team, the I/S Applications Developer will be responsible for designing and delivering mission critical business applications for enterprise clients using Microsoft .NET technologies. This role has responsibility for understanding client business and technical requirements and then delivering appropriate end-to-end solutions consisting of component-based, services-oriented applications developed using the .NET Framework and complementary Microsoft technologies.  

This is a multi-disciplinary role which requires strong software development knowledge and subject matter expertise with topics such as Web-enabled application design and enterprise integration, relational database utilization, application architecture, security design and software development methodologies and processes.  This person will be required to work both independently and in a team environment.

Duties:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

•·         Understand, analyze, and document client technical environment and business requirements.

•·         Participate in the development and delivery of technology solutions by designing, and implementing distributed software architectures and solutions using Microsoft technologies.

•·         Proven ability to follow .NET development standards, policies, and best practices.

•·         Proven ability to follow development methodologies, frameworks, and processes.

•·         Assist in performing technology/tools evaluation and software technical proof of concepts.

Qualifications:

Experience, Education & Training:

•·         MCAD, MCSD, SCJP, SCJD certifications preferred or bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related discipline.

•·         5 years experience developing domain driven, data-intensive, event-driven applications.

Specialized Knowledge & Skills:

•·         3 years experience developing within the .NET Framework, or equivalent Java framework(EJB, Spring, etc.).

•·         3 years experience developing object-oriented & component-oriented applications with C#.NET, or Java.

•·         3 years experience with any combination of Winform, Silverlight, or WPF, or equivalent Java UI (JFC, Swing, etc.)..

•·         1 year experience with an ORM, preferably nHibernate or Hibernate.

•·         1 year experience designing/implementing services (including .NET WCF, XML, SOAP, WSDL & UDDI).

•·         1 year experience with Microsoft Visual Studio or Java IDE (Eclipse, IntelliJ)

•·         1 year experience with Microsoft IIS.

•·         1 year experience working with Domains and enterprise patterns.

•·         1 year experience with SQL, prefer MS SQL Server.

•·         Prefer experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) reporting templates.

•·         Prefer experience with Microsoft Team Foundation Server.

•·         Prefer experience integrating Microsoft Active Directory with applications.

•·         Demonstrated ability to work with high volume, high throughput, low latency requirements.

•·         Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into technical deliverables.

•·         Strong documentation and communications skills.
