Description: | PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Works in conjunction with the Marine Division business managers and the corporate marketing department to develop and implement strategic marketing plans for the marine division while staying abreast of changes in the industry. With the Marine Division business managers guidance, directs and oversees the Marine Divisions marketing objectives and initiatives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
50% Marketing and Sales promotion:
Supplies, maintains, and files graphic designs for: advertising / marketing campaigns, direct mail, presentation material (powerpoint), and all internal functions within the Marine Division.
Develops relationships with outside printing companies to deliver quality results in a timely manner coordination, negotiation, drive accountability
Supports in production, distribution and coordination of assigned advertising projects with other Caterpillar Dealers per specifically assigned functions.
Manages the Marine division publication advertising develops ads, negotiates rates/placement, ensures that the listings comply with our corporate brand guidelines
Maintains event files and documentation (as per Caterpillar Guidelines) to support Focus program advertising programs
Works with corporate marketing department to ensure that the Marine division website content is updated and relevant to our customers
Works with field sales staff to report monthly OEM activity to report PINS data monthly with NC boat builders and repowers when data is available
Maintains, updates, and builds mailing lists for marketing campaigns
Supports the boat yard retail stores with advertising and promotional material
Serves as Marine Division brand manager holding everyone accountable to staying with corporate brand guidelines (guidelines set by corporate marketing dept)
Collects and provides editorial content for marketing efforts (e-newsletters, company newsletter, press releases, etc.)
Utilizes the corporate project management tool (PooleNet) to manage marketing tactics/projects to ensure we are fully leveraging all marketing expertise and increasing internal communication
Administers the Lead Management System with the Marine Division (tracking, reinforcing, training)
20% Shows/Displays/Special Events:
Creates large format graphics for event displays, banners, ect.
Assist as directed in coordination and set-up of displays for trade shows, exhibits, customer meetings and fishing tournaments.
Establish relationship with tournament directors, negotiate sponsorship benefits, and create event schedule to drive internal and external awareness.
Travel required, especially in summer months, to events. Most located in VA, NC, SC.
Plans Caterpillar Dealer Advisory Team (DAT) meetings. Coordinates members travel plans, arrange meeting space, catering, ground transportation for the group.
Plans, coordinates and manages internal and external meetings, luncheons and dinners, record minutes of meetings and provide summary in a timely fashion.
25% Administrative:
Assist as directed with various Marine Sales Department support activities such as but not limited to: routine bookkeeping, invoicing, purchase order processing, mail collection/distribution, filing, processing Application Extender information processing, copying, telephone coordination, orderly maintaining the Marketing Storage room and materials, etc.
Maintains the marine novelty inventory, tracking all items, ordering and buying inventory in a timely manner to insure availability for all shows, tournaments and customer events
Coordinates with OEM marketing depts. to insure coordination of needs for dealer meetings, trade shows and support activities for OEM customer events
Controls expenses to work within budgetary levels set by business managers. Ensures all invoices and request for co-op advertising are submitted on a timely basis
5% CRM (Customer Relationship Management) support:
Serve as a backup to the CRM Administrator by updating Goldmine via adding new customers, troubleshooting problems, installing users and modifying existing data.
Enters all OEM customer data into Goldmine, including new vessel registrations, incentive payments, ESC correspondence and any other communication or actions between OEMs, OEM Dealers and OEM customers.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
Two year degree in graphic design/marketing or related industry or four year degree in marketing/graphics design or related industry.
Working Experience:
A two year degree requires two years of direct marketing and/or graphic design experience. A four year degree should have internship marketing experience.
Physical:
Ability to periodically travel overnight (sometimes overnight).
Ability to lift various materials that could weigh up to 50 lb, stoop, bend and stretch in order to assemble/disassemble marketing displays.
Ability to sit for long periods using a PC and telephone.
Other:
Must have an intermediate/advanced knowledge level of PC software (preferable with MS Office 2007 Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite (Indesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) or comparable software is required.
Knowledge of printing terminology and paper
A basic knowledge of the marine and boating industry is helpful
Must have a valid state drivers license and acceptable driving record, and be able to us a personal vehicle for occasional marketing work usage.
Must be willing to travel overnight (sometimes up to seven days at a time)
A basic working knowledge of digital media (camera) is preferable
Must be willing to travel to the corporate office (Raleigh, NC) regularly for corporate marketing team meetings
