Description:

Primary Focus •Estimate projects-civil, structural, and/or mechanical, piping and sheet metal •Develop clear and detailed project scopes for the customer

Duties:

•Customer relations-maintain current and develop new customers •Conduct site visits and attend pre-bid meetings to understand the constructibility of projects •Understand plans and specifications to identify the types and grades of materials and equipment needed and to ensure compliance with project requirements •Review specifications, contract terms and requirements •Contract and subcontract negotiation and administration •Interface with foremen and workmen •Conduct pre-job meetings with foremen to review scope of work, manpower requirements, work sequence, special requirements and safety •Monitor ongoing jobs for costs, profitability and schedule adherence •Maintain detailed and orderly estimate and project files •Effectively document and manage change orders •Maintain safety awareness

Qualifications:

Requirements •Engineering degree preferred (civil, mechanical or structural) •Construction Experience and or related Education •Supervisory skills •Must be proficient at multi-tasking and organizing activities to meet deadlines •Strong verbal and written communication skills •Excellent attention to detail and good interpersonal skills •Understanding of the technical requirements of the industry •Concrete, industrial sheet metal, carpentry, structural steel, pipefitting and insulation experience preferred •Hands-on knowledge of -Estimating software-Microsoft Office -Scheduling software-Cost Distribution -Common contracting procedures and practices Other Requirements Must possess and maintain current valid Drivers’ License and a driving record acceptable to company insurer.
