Description:

POSITION OBJECTIVE: Report news stories and events as assigned for regularly scheduled newscasts as well as any special reports including bulletins, documentaries, series, investigative reports and back-up anchor as needed. NOTE: This is a generic news reporter posting. Management will assign responsibilities on a regular and/or rotating basis depending upon need and proven capabilities and the need to provide expertise for the future.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
• College degree related field, or equivalent experience.
• Two years (2) commercial broadcast TV journalism/reporting experience or equivalent.
• Ability to conceptualize stories for Television presentation and write, produce and stand-up report such stories for either tape or live camera. Proven ability for accuracy and follow-through.
• Acceptable on-air presence and voice quality including ability to exude confidence and project a professional image performance wise and with respect to dress and demeanor. Able to enunciate clearly and have the ability to read copy fluently.
• Willingness to accept responsibility and work under minimal supervision. Ability to use owns initiative and show innovation in problem solving.
• Self-starter, capable of performing under pressure particularly during peak hours to meet job deadlines as the services performed affect the ability of others in the department to do their work.
• An in-house audition writing and covering a story under the direction of KSL News may be required.
• Consistently works hours required. Works more when required to meet deadlines including odd hours, weekends, holidays, overtime, etc. Schedule may vary with assignments.
• Valid driver’s license and proven ability to safely drive company vehicle or personal vehicle (as case may be) without exposing the company to serious liability risks.
• Proven ability to handle stress.
• Work effectively in a team environment.
• Maintain a positive and cooperative rapport with staff, management, and clients.
• Work in compliance with Company policies and procedures.
• Project an appropriate professional appearance and demeanor.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Substantial physical movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
• Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks.
• Lift, move, and carry up to 20 pounds on occasion.
• Receive, process, and maintain information through oral and/or written communication effectively.
• Extend hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction with good eye and hand coordination.
