Contract to hire potential, mostly office hours on site with the client; however, nights/weekends may be needed due to change windows.
Lead Systems Engineer - Citrix/VDI - Contract to Hire - Work hours Monday - Friday; however, flexibility on off hour and weekends needed per project.
The person filling this position will play a key role and is responsible for engineering solutions for remote access and local by leading evaluation efforts to productions. Carrying out system design and implementation. Focus areas are VDI, Citrix, and VMWare. Utilizing Table PC Win7, IPads and Android devices.
Operates as a team lead providing expert technical direction to team members. Interface with Stakeholders on all complex projects. Ability to present ideas and take charge of projects. Update manager on all escalated issues.

Duties: |
In this role:
Develop and work to constantly improve service offerings, service availability/performance, and overall customer experience. Manage lifecycle of VDI/Citrix.
Serve as an integral resource in projects, adhering to committed deliverables, and regular communication of progress to management
Organize and lead large cross-department product evaluation teams to enable wide exposure and consensus.
Manage installation, maintenance and support of complex technical infrastructures, hardware, and system software components.
Manage and tune platforms to ensure expected availability and performance levels are achieved.
Provide expert technical direction to Sr. System, System, Associate Engineers and contractors.
Provide expertise on VDI and Citrix administration, configuration and troubleshooting
Manage engineering and roll-out improvement implementation.
Perform root cause analysis for service interruption recovery; create preventative measures on complex projects.
Interface with Business Stakeholders on all applicable projects. Update manager on all escalated issues.
Provide 3rd level support on all existing VDI/Citrix issues
Create and maintain project upgrade plan / schedule.
Provide Technical Diagrams and layouts.
Provide documentation for ongoing support of VDI/Citrix environment.

Qualifications: |
Skills:
5 + years of Citrix/VDI experience required
Architect, Engineer, and Administer entire VDI/Citrix environment.
Monitor Usage and License status.
Citrix XenApp 5/6 work experience/certifications
Manage workflow process and update as appropriate.
Solid knowledge of VDI broker technology (Quest vWorkspace (incumbent technology), Citrix
Solid understanding of VMware vSphere (VCP preferred)
Solid understanding of the RDP, PCoIP and HDX protocols
Experience with Profile Management tools (e.g. AppSense, Citrix)
Experience with scripting and improving efficiencies through automation
Citrix XenApp 5/6 work experience/certifications
Proficient knowledge of Server Administration.
Confidently perform duties with limited supervision.
5 years experience in Server platforms in large enterprise environment.
5 years experience in Windows Server configurations.
5 years experience within Microsoft Networking and Support ( Active Directory, WINS, TCPIP).
Proficient in scripting and queries.
Identify gaps and areas of improvement, make recommendation and implementation strategies.
Strong communication skills
