Duties: |
This position will be responsible for ensuring employee adherence to Company safety policies and procedures.
Responsibilities and duties will include the following:
-Manage on-going safety program
-Work with Operations to ensure proper Safety staffing
-Verify field work compliance with Federal, State and local regulations, company policy and industry best practices
-Audit and provide meaningful feedback, leadership, and guidance to Safety Engineers
-Coordinate Safety cross training and conduct training as necessary between regional areas and operating companies
-Assist management with methods to improve Safety practices and procedures
-Provide leadership and guidance to Safety Engineer’s
-Conduct and report on advance notice and no-notice inspections, surveys, and evaluations as required
-Prepare evaluation and inspection reports as well as corrective actions and submit them to the Director of Safety
-Receive, review and participate with the development of accident briefs, safety-related publications, bulletins, and reports
-Provide technical and professional assistance to eliminate or control unsafe behavior and environmental factors
-Provide progress reports on safety activities, requested safety reports, and safety studies
-Assist in the conduct of accident/incident investigations for area of responsibility
-Develop and maintain liaison with other safety related organizations, manufactures, government agencies and all operating companies
-Assist with research and coordination of all applications and regulations pertaining to construction operations including waivers and restriction as they relate to safety.
-Maintain current knowledge of organizational policies and procedures, federal and state policies and directives, and pertinent regulations and laws governing employee safety
-Other safety related duties as assigned

Qualifications: |
Qualified candidates will have a minimum of 5-10 years experience in a utility and construction industry, with knowledge of industry safety programs. OSHA or DOT related experience is required. Also, past managerial experience is highly desired and a Bachelors Degree or higher is preferred.
Seeking candidates who are effective oral and written communicators, reliable, punctual, self-starters, are team players and have a good attitude.
