Description:

Successful applicants will work with the engineering, product management; product architects and documentation teams to ensure the product requirements and designs are translated into relevant test cases and perform accordingly.  In addition, the QA resource will participate as a key member of the development team for providing user centric feedback for user interface design and ensuring the overall user experience is appropriate to the identified user audience.

In this role you will: Define, implement and maintain efficient test environments, procedures and processes; develop, document, execute and maintain test plans for multiple versions of product releases; identify and report root causes for software defects.

Given the nature of the job, this person must be able to work both independently as well as cooperatively with other team members. 

Duties:

  • Responsible for creating, executing, documenting, and maintaining test plans, automated test scripts and manual test of GUI applications.
  • Creates detailed test cases, test scripts, and test data based on requirements and functional specs.
  • Writes training, troubleshooting and release documentation in support of software system implementations
  • Recognize opportunities for Symon to expand its product offerings through usability and feature/function modifications. 
  • Ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction is met at all times through prompt, thorough and professional (internal and external) customer assistance, and serving as an example and mentor for new members of the team.
  • Continually grow your skills, knowledge and ability in leading edge technologies consistent with our business focus.  
  • Actively manage one's own professional and technical development in conjunction with management to ensure optimal positioning for success in the job.

Qualifications:

The QA Software Tester must be able to achieve a high level of customer satisfaction and added value services through their participation in the Symon engagements.The following competencies are required of such an individual:

The QA Software Tester must be able to achieve a smooth Department workflow:

  • Highly competent and effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of, and experience with, audio /video equipment, A/V software and technology, Video distribution, and LCD Displays.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Contact Center operations and supporting technology - Common ACD Systems (Aspect, Avaya, Nortel, and Rockwell), IVRs, Workforce Management Systems, Quality Monitoring systems, CTI, etc.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of database systems all user interfaces to the ACD System and MIS products
  • PC literacy, with high level of proficiency in Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of  .NET Framework 3.0/3.5/4.0
  • Experience with web development tools such as Expressions Web, FrontPage, and/or Dreamweaver.
  • Knowledge of IIS, and general web development.
  • Experience with Web Services, SOAP, and XML is a plus.
  • Experience with all Microsoft OS packages is required.

Qualifications:

  • BS degree and 5-7 years related experience in QA/software testing.
  • 5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance testing activities: (Structural, Functional, Interface, Installation, Hardware, Performance, Scalability and Regression Testing)
  • 5+ years of experience in Automation testing tools: VS2010, Visual Test, WinRunner, Quick Test Pro, Test Complete or Test Director
  • Strong skills in analysis, design, QA test planning and execution testing of Client/Server and Web based applications
  • Comprehensive knowledge of relational databases and Microsoft SQL Server
  • Knowledge of Microsoft technologies (.Net architecture), and Team Foundation Server
  • Knowledge of Scrum methodology (Agile Development/QA Methodologies)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft and VMWARE system virtualization and deployment server configuration and usage is a plus
