Description: |
| The Registered Nurse (RN) must demonstrate the Agency’s purpose, philosophy, policies and procedures. The RN works as a team member and oversees the day-to-day activities and needs of the clients in their care. This position serves as a professional position in a psychiatric treatment setting. |
Duties: |
Receives client care assignments from the Director of Nursing, Program Director and/or therapist. Responds appropriately to each client according to the treatment plans.
Leads and directs clients with significant mental/emotional diagnoses.
Interacts with clients in a therapeutic manner.
Establishes structure in the program that enables the client to learn responsibilities.
Encourages clients to plan, set/achieve personal goals and provide positive direction.
Maintains a safe environment including fire prevention, fire drills and evacuation plans.
Restrains aggressive clients using approved techniques and procedures.
Provides transportation for clients to events, including but not limited to school and medical appointments.
Counsels or provides similar diagnostic or therapeutic services to mentally disturbed, delinquent, or disabled clients.
Serves as a client advocate; establishes rapport; is aware of and respects the rights and dignity of all clients.
Possesses basic knowledge of group dynamics and can effectively facilitate a community, support, or task group.
Is given specific area(s) of responsibility as designated by the Director of Nursing, Program Director and/or therapist. May serve as the shift supervisor when assigned.
Documents nursing notes in the client files.
Distributes medications. May coordinate medications with the pharmacy.
May be assigned other duties as needed.

Qualifications: |
Registered Nursing training/degree from an accredited school and licensure.
Although not required, experience in a psychiatric treatment setting is helpful.
This position may provide some regular part-time and/or PRN opportunities during the week or on the weekends, all shifts. |
