Pharmacy Technician-Infusions (Full Time)

Description:

Under direct supervision performs pharmaceutical compounding and all assigned duties associated with the IV program.  This position requires pharmacy technician certification or a minimum of 3 years IV admixture experience. 

Duties:

• Accurately assembles / processes medications for delivery via third party shipper.
• Independently participates in the efficiency and productivity of the workflow in clean room and stock room areas under the direction of the lead technician or pharmacy manager.
• Participates in the stocking of medication/disposable stock levels in the admixture room.
• Accurately prepares and assists in training others in all IV admixtures using company approved aseptic technique.  Achieves less than 10% error rate on compounded mixes.
• Competent in the maintenance of pharmacy clean room and compounding documentation, and able to train others in completing these forms accurately.
• Maintains assigned pharmacy Infusion Pumps to include accurate and complete cleaning, quality check (QA) and tracking to assure less than 5% lost equipment rate annually as assigned by pharmacy manager.
• Assembles work orders/labels/delivery tickets as specified by supervisor.
•  Performs weekly CII inventory and reconciliation, reporting any discrepancy to pharmacy manager, as assigned by pharmacy manager.

Qualifications:

The Pharmacy Technician shall posses a high school diploma or equivalent.  Must possess and maintain current pharmacy technician certification (PTCB) and meet the technician registration requirements for the state in which they are employed plus 2 years of experience in a pharmacy or home IV, hospital environment required.  A Physical Abilities Test must be passed to be considered.

Need to be able to work any hours between 8am to 7pm.  This position will have rotating shift of 9am-6pm and 10am-7pm.
