Description:

We are looking for enthusiastic Banquet Servers at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building for banquets, business meetings, and receptions. 15-20 hours a week serving banquets and receptions. An applicant needs to be available Monday through Saturday, for both day-time and evening shifts, but will probably be scheduled 3 times a week. Availability Thursday-Saturday is a must. There might be weeks when a person is scheduled only one time. It fluctuates from week to week. The day shift is usually, 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The night shift is usually 4:00 to 10:00 or 11:00 at night, or until the work is done. The work is fast-paced and physically demanding with lots going on at once. A banquet server carries a loaded tray over their shoulder. Free meal, free uniform. The person must be able to communicate with guests in excellent English. Outstanding interpersonal skills, meticulous grooming. A High School graduate is preferred. Must abide by Temple Square Hospitality Corporation’s 100% smoke-free policy. The applicant for this job must be available to work continuously for at least the next eight months and preferably, year-round.

Duties:

Be part of a great, friendly team. Carries a loaded tray over the shoulder. Banquet trays weigh up to 40 pounds and there is some moving of equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds. Previous experience is not required. We are skilled at training people with the right traits and talents.

TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS JOB, you will need to come to a Group Informational Interview. This will take about 30 minutes and is done according to the following schedule:

Tuesday May 1, 2012 at 1:00 PM
Thursday May 3, 2012 at 3:00 PM
Friday May 4, 2012 at 1:00 PM

If you do not attend one of these group informational interviews, you might not be considered for a job.

These will be held on the 9th floor of the Joseph Smith Memorial Building which is on the Northeast corner of South Temple and Main Street.

Parking is located down a ramp in the center of the street on South Temple. You need to be traveling west, on South Temple between State Street and Main Street to enter. At the bottom of the ramp turn right. We will validate your parking.
