Description:

Full-time position with competitive wages and excellent benefit package. Must be a CTRS or a Certified Activity Director to be considered for the position.

Duties:

Job Knowledge:

1. Demonstrate knowledge of age specific developmental factors specific to adult and geriatric residents.

2. Demonstrate knowledge, skills, and tecniquest necessary to plan activities for resdients with the following needs: therapeutic, neuro & dementia, dialysis, IV therapy, and infectious diseases if applicable.

3. Coordinates and encourages and active volunteer program. Ensures that volunteers are knowledgeable fo all facility policies and procedures.

4. Maintains a system of records including information on residents, progress notes, attendance, discharge summaries, Resident Council meeting minutes, activity assessments and plans for each resident.

5. Attends the care plan conferences and identifies problems and develops goals and approaches for inclusion on the care plan.

6. Directs other activity personnel in implementing activity programs and services at the facility. Assists in training, teaching and directing of volunteers and students.

Qualifications:

SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Possesses a good knowledge of organization and the techniques of a diversified program of meaningful, appropriate leisure time activities in a residential health care facility.

2. Professional Qualifications: a) Is a qualified occupational therapist, therapeutic specialist, occupational therapy assistant, recreational generalis; or b) has a minimum of two years full-time paid work experience in a health care setting.

3. Demonstrates good knowledge of activities program direction and supervision.
