Mesa County LIBRARIES In-House Employment Opportunity Library Assistant COMPENSATION: $12.02/hour plus benefits FLSA: Non-Exempt DEPARTMENT: Administration ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Manage materials donations; process withdrawn books, route material to book broker, book store and recycling. Assist in inventory function. Create and manage inventory reports; scan and reconcile database to physical collection and generating spreadsheets for data assessment. Assist Projects Manager with Branch Library construction projects. Provide library service to customers at Branches as needed. Assist facilities department with ongoing maintenance and projects. Occasional exposure to varying conditions including extreme heat, extreme cold, rain or snow. Regular work near moving mechanical parts REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Education or training associated with the completion of a two-year degree in college, vocational or tech¬nical school courses of study related to the area of assignment, or two (2) years' previous library experience or retail customer service experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to: Remain standing and/or bending for extended periods of time Bend to floor level or reach a height of 75 inches Lift up to 40 pounds/ Push movable cart loaded to a maximum of 250 pounds Maneuver about the library in a timely fashion Read a minimum print size equal to 10 point Times New Roman font Tolerate dust, mold, etc. that may have accumulated on books
HOURS: 40 hours per week, schedule may include evenings and weekends HIRING CONSIDERATIONS: Successful applicant must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Colorado Class R driver's license.
