Geospatial Analyst II w/Security Clearance

Description:

Beacon Associates, Inc., a small, woman-owned Federal Contractor, has an IMMEDIATE need to build a team of Geospatial Analysts for deployment to the Combined/Joint Operations Area, Afghanistan.

Duties:

• Must deploy to Afghanistan for 365 continuous days. Must be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week The successful candidate will be expected to work side by side with Government personnel working approximately 12 hours per day totaling a 72 hour/ 6 day work week. Contracted personnel shall be available by phone during non-duty hours and report to their appropriate duty station within one hour of being notified to do so.
• Participate in the Information Management Working Groups that identify and mitigate information stovepipes across staff sections and expand these efforts to partner with the interagency and GIRoA.
• Provide expert advice to the CMO staffs, identify/implement best practices for IM, and standardize procedures throughout the IM team.
• Develop layers of information from military and civilian sources. Develop diagrams of networks and associations trees. Identify common operating procedures that enforce the saving of information to save resources and streamline processes. Collect information from the Information Management Working Groups at all subordinate levels in order to mitigate information stovepipes across staff sections and expand these efforts to partner with the interagency and GIRoA.
• Conduct data entry, data maintenance and information dissemination for the assigned command.
• Prepare and conduct briefings with senior members of the CMO staff.
• Attend and participate in working groups and conferences with U.S. and GIRoA officials.
• Identify procedural shortcomings that impact the quality of information available to USFOR-A and the US Government and recommend changes.
• Provide effects-based project analysis to influence future developments and engagements. Build Common Operating Picture to enable informed decisions of lethal and non-lethal commanders.
• Track, at a minimum, the following categories of information utilizing the Combined Information Data Network Exchange (CIDNE- and SQL database).

Qualifications:

• Must be willing to deploy to Afghanistan for a period of no less than 1 year
• Active Secret Security Clearance
• Minimum of 1 year experience in Information Technology, Information Management, or Geographic Information Systems.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Management, or Geographic Information Systems.
• Personnel management experience sufficient to manage a workforce of up to 5 subordinates in a hierarchical structure.
• Operational and technical experience with ESRI ArcGIS and/or Google Earth (ESRI ArcGIS is preferred)
• Strong interpersonal, writing and speaking skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Software (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook, and Access) to maintain data and to create reports and briefings.
• Operational and technical experience with Structured Query Language (SQL) or other equivalent web-based databases.
