Beacon Associates, Inc., a certified 8(a) woman-owned company, is seeking a Deputy Project Manager to assist the Project Manager with coordinating and overseeing the implementation and continuous operation of all facets of the Student Services Contract at the Center for Domestic Preparedness in Anniston, AL. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining close coordination with all departments to ensure proper workflow and successful completion of current projects/tasks. |
Duties: |
Assists the Project Manager and provides day to day oversight of contract operations.
Responsible for responding to government requested work orders from initial receipt to final submission of estimated/actual costs.
Develops and implements project plans and provides input to meet objectives.
Responsible for program area budget and assigns resources to meet project plans.
Ensures cost-effective support of programs and policies.
Serves as liaison between project staff and the federal government.
Must be a team builder and operate effectively within a team environment.

Qualifications: |
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of organizations mission and functions
Knowledge of social, political, and technological systems
Knowledge of CDP programs, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations of the organization
Knowledge of contract types, contracting/ procurement techniques, and contract negotiation/administration
Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management
Knowledge of project management techniques and tools
Direct work experience in project management capacity
Proven experience in people management
Proven experience in strategic planning
Proven experience in risk management
Proven experience in change management
Proficient in project management software
Uses and applies the principles and methods of cost-benefit analysis, including the time value of money, present value concepts, and quantifying tangible and intangible benefits
Working knowledge of laws, legal codes, government regulations, executive orders, agency rules, government organization and their functions
Education and Experience:
BS in Business Administration or related field; MBA or Master's Degree preferred
Eight plus years' related experience will be considered in lieu of education
Certified Project Management Professional or able to qualify for PMP
