Description:

Achieve monthly and annual revenue goals by selling advertising to and servicing local businesses, in collaboration with Field Sales Rep. Develop new business and grow existing business through inside sales calls by using a variety of sales programs and newspaper products.

Duties:

- Work as a team with Field Sales Rep to achieve monthly and annual revenue goals through the presentation and sale of multiple products and programs for new and existing clients. Possess a thorough understanding of product features and benefits, rates, and packages and how to explain them using Value Selling. Demonstrate proficiency in matching products to customer needs, in using Value Matrix packages, and making recommendations that sell the value of the newspaper and close the sale. Give leads and sales opportunities to Field Sales Rep when appropriate, as well as follow up on sales opportunities that come from Field Sales Rep. Meet monthly client package sales goals, team error ratio goals and churn rate goals.

- Collaborate with Field Sales Rep and manager to develop strategies on how to grow revenue from existing and new accounts, as well as how to better serve customers. Analyze sales performance to goals and develop strategy to reach goals.

- Organize and submit ad copy, art and layout by deadline, complete accurate advertising orders, submit client contracts and complete sales reporting in a timely manner. Work with staff in accounting and ad operations to ensure issues are quickly resolved. Provide our customers with top-notch customer service by taking care of customer issues immediately. Complete sales reporting in a timely manner.

- Attend sales meetings and training to obtain sales, product, competition or other essential job information.

- Work in a professional and courteous business manner with customers along with co-workers. Present a positive and professional demeanor and appearance that reflects The Tennessean’s high standards. Contribute to a positive and constructive atmosphere and work to make the department and newspaper more effective.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or GED.

- Two years advertising account management experience including daily experience communicating with, servicing, managing, and upselling accounts to meet client business needs.

- Good organizational skills, written communication skills, problem-solving skills, interpersonal skills, analytical skills, and time-management skills.

- Basic knowledge of MS Office, e-mail, Internet, and database applications.

- Valid Tennessee driver’s license & proof of automobile insurance.
