Building Science Administrative Support

Southern Energy Management, a North Carolina-based energy efficiency and solar power company, seeks a full-time Building Science Administrative Support team member to join our fast-growing team.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide assistance to the Building Science team in administrative, customer service, sales, marketing, and accounting support.
• Serve as first point of contact for customers using our verification services for the Energy Star for Homes program and other green building programs.
• Assist with the creation of customer proposals and marketing materials.
• Review client-submitted plans and related documents required for verification compliance.
• Conduct meetings with customers to review scopes of services offered.
• Maintain & update contacts, projects, and certification databases.
• Assist with organization, planning, and logistics of workshops and other customer-related events.

Required Skills/Experience:

• Highly proficient skills using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Mathematical aptitude and basic understanding of accounting procedures.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English.
• Detail-oriented and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to take initiative and work independently while also collaborating in a team environment.
• Valid, clean drivers’ license and willingness to travel to builder sites using own vehicle (mileage reimbursed at standard rate).
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills with both internal team and external clients.
• Ability to work as part of a team in a dynamic, open, fast-paced environment.
• Strong commitment to sustaninable energy and dedication to SEM’s triple bottom line approach.

Preferences:

• Knowledge and/or experience in building science or construction industry preferred.
• Previous experience in customer services, development, and support also desired.
