Central Billing Office Clerk- 20 hours per week

I. PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To help support and facilitate a continual flow of information within the Central Billing Office


Duties:


II. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Retrieve scanned EOBs to forward with secondary claims
• Utilize Misys Vision Practice Management System to support charge entry for various customers
• Update Misys Vision Practice Management System with new/and or changes to patient registrations
• Prepare for processing Insurance and Patient refunds
• Sort and distribute daily IVS Central Billing Office mail
• Process all correspondence received from Insurance


III. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Follow internal protocols regarding departmental communications
• Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals
• Adhere to corporate compliance program guidelines and comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures within the IVS community
• Maintain and respect the confidentiality of PHI (Protected Health Information) in accordance with insurance collection guidelines, corporate policy and all HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) mandates. Candidate will have access to PHI based on the HIPAA minimum necessary standards
• Other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications:

• Other duties as assigned by management

IV. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Computer skills evidenced by proficiency and /or training with applicable software
• Ability to set priorities
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of CPT and ICD coding helpful, but not necessary



V. EXTENT OF PUBLIC CONTACT (within and outside IVS)

• Interact with the public (physicians, insurance companies, internal WH community etc.) via telephone and or written communication in a courteous and tactful manner to answer concerns, questions and or resolve any issues


VI. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Ability to remain seated up to 4 plus hours a day
• Ability to work in fast paced environment
