Description:

PURPOSE:
Provides professional and quality member service by performing a variety of transactions on member and business accounts, selling Credit Union products & services, and providing information to members. Plays a key role in the sales culture at the Credit Union by generating referrals for financial products.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Complies with established State and Federal regulations as they pertain to transactions/tasks performed and completes necessary paperwork as required by law (i.e., Suspicious Activity Report, Currency Transaction Report, etc.)
• Creates a pleasant atmosphere and represents the Credit Union in a courteous and professional manner.
• Creates and maintains professional business relationships with members.
• Adheres to established Credit Union Core Values and Service Excellence standards.
• Sets and achieves sales goals utilizing skills learned by attending Schneider Sales Training.
• Actively participates in the MSR Recognition Program.
• Sells Credit Union products and services beneficial to the member by using the credit union’s preferred way of selling.
• Receives and processes financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments and transfers.
• Protects the assets of the credit union by properly identifying members and performing transactions with accuracy.
• Maintains and balances cash drawer within established limits.
• Performs a variety of account maintenance duties (i.e., name and address changes, etc.).
• Provides member service in certificates, stop payments, wire transfers, money orders, VISA, CD's, Money Market, IRA's and other services, as applicable.
• Answers members' requests for information about statements, share withdrawals and loan payoffs; computes interest rates for loan payoffs. May assist in researching member account problems.
• Follows established security procedures (i.e., dual control, robbery, safety, etc.)
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

• Skill in handling cash accurately in a fast paced environment.

DIFFICULTY & COMPLEXITY OF DUTIES:
Accuracy in the handling assigned cash drawer and recording daily transactions. Meeting sales objectives using the credit union’s preferred way of selling. Maintaining security controls by operating within established procedures and remaining alert to potential threats at all times.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES & REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION:
Requires the ability to operate personal and mainframe computers, calculator, facsimile, and telephone.
Requires the ability to regularly stand, walk, and reach with the hands and arms.
Requires the ability to occasionally sit; use the hands and fingers, handle or feel objects.
Requires the ability to be at a workstation for long periods of time & the ability to move around the office.
Requires the ability to use close vision and adjust focus.
Requires the ability to travel off site for training, conferences, meetings, and seminars.
Requires the ability to work flexible days and hours.
Requires the ability to regularly hear and speak with others.
Requires the ability to read, write, and communicate in English, in person and over the telephone.

DECISION MAKING & JUDGEMENT EXERCISED:
Reports directly to supervisor. Depending upon the situation and the employee’s experience makes judgment calls on own initiative, conferring with and/or informing supervisor.

DIRECT OR FUNCTIONAL SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
None.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Reports to and is supervised by Operations Supervisor, Branch Manager or Financial Services Center Manager, depending on branch assigned or working in. Assignments are issued by their supervisor. Nature of the work is such that it is performed largely on own responsibility after assignment.

TRAINING & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
