Description:

GENERAL JOB OBJECTIVES:

The Sales Trainer is responsible for the assessment, planning, development, delivery and evaluation of pharmaceutical sales training programs which improve employee and organizational performance. The Sales Trainer promotes the learning process through the use of adult learning principles and proven presentation methods and exercises.

Duties:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assess training needs based on business goals
• Develop training materials tailored to target audience
• Determine behavioral/performance objectives
• Deliver sales training programs
• Assess student performance based on learning objectives
• Utilize appropriate evaluation methods to measure performance and competency
• Schedule/coordinate training activities/events
• Maintain records for all training/education activities
• Maintain/update training materials
• Monitor calls to improve effectiveness of training programs
• Utilize activities that are fun and engaging
• Identify appropriate soft skill sets needed for programs
• Integrate soft skill training into program training
• Read audience cues and tailor presentation to needs
• Confront/resolve student issues
• Establish and maintain professional team relationships with peers, management and other departments
• Provide development of staff members by sharing knowledge, skills and expertise
• Positively promote department and company image
• Actively participate in department/organization performance improvement activities
• Other duties assigned by supervisor

Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS:
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 4 year college degree in education, communication, or business-related field preferred
• At least two years of sales training experience required, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry
• Previous experience in a contact center environment preferred
• Basic understanding of instructional design
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
• Advanced computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint required
• Strong group facilitation and stand-up presentation skills required
• Experience in operating presentation/media equipment - projector, etc.
