Description: |
| Provides key Intelligence Mission Application application support to the DoDIIS Certification process. Conducts daily monitoring of the testing network to support integration, security, user, and interoperability testing. Manages applications using system administration manuals and related program documentation. Takes corrective action to ensure applications are available for the full spectrum of testing. Reports status and assists senior test staff to recommend changes to correct systems as required. |
Duties: |
• Without appreciable direction, manage, support and troubleshoot systems residing on Linux/Window/UNIX hosts and workstations.
• Provide application support including connectivity, password maintenance, log retention, and application specific procedures in accordance with the Systems Administration Manual.
• Plan and manage performance monitoring, back-ups/restores, problem identification, management, and resolution
• Make necessary recommendations for additional storage resources or hardware
• Monitor system performance and take corrective actions
• Identify and manage service improvements to increase customer satisfaction
• Maintain accountability for resolving service problems and for prioritizing work requests
• Develop, maintain, and report meaningful metrics

Qualifications: |
Required:
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline (or comparable experience)
• 3 years system administration experience
• Experience in all of the following Operating Systems: Windows, Solaris and Linux
• Experience in systems engineering related to operations of information technology
• Understanding of both NAS and SAN technologies
• Experience supporting database and application servers
• Effective communication skills. Ability to interact with personnel at all levels
• Experience participating in teams in the completion of highly visible, time constrained tasks
Desired Experience :
Required, plus:
• Relational database familiarity to include basic SQL capabilities
• Familiarity with OpsWare and Virtualization
• General Scripting capability
