Duties: | Primary Responsibilities
Estimate the amount of development, analysis and deployment work associated with project delivery.
Collaborate with the business analysts, the business stakeholders and the call center operations group to ensure proper application design.
Analyze company projects and make recommendations on design and application approach.
Ensure to the best ability that all work is free from defects.
Develop and configure the call center applications to meet the agreed upon specs.
Design and develop external communication to and from applications, including but not limited to FTP file feeds, Web services, Secure FTP transfer, and reports.
Support and trouble shoot applications as needed.
Be available for emergency issues as they arise.
Manage the health and lifecycle of our current suite of applications.
Secondary Responsibilities
Task as directed by the Development Manager
Maintain up to date skills
Learn new technology as required
Collaborate with the Systems Database Administrator to design database structures and database approach for custom applications and feeds.
Support other developers and fill in for absences
Organizational Support
Validate the status of work released into QA and Production
Identify career opportunities and a clear roadmap to achieve career goals
| Qualifications: | Knowledge
The Senior Software Engineer at TMS Health must possess demonstrated knowledge with the following tools and technologies:
Microsoft SQL Server
Experience with Java, Jscript, J++, J2EE, Eclipse development environment
HTML, ASP, ASP.NET, Web Services and overall Web development
Familiarity with COM, COM+, ActiveX, .NET, C#, Microsoft Visual Studio
Familiarity with Zero-Bug Convergence Techniques
Familiarity with software source control systems, preferably VSS
Skills
Strong oral and written communication with both technical and business teams
Strong familiarity with software engineering practices and methodologies
Time and workload management
Ability to work in a fast pace, fast changing environment
Self-directed and able to work as both team member and individual contributor
Education
The Senior Software Engineer at TMS Health will possess a Bachelors degree in Computer Science with a minimum of 3 years of industry experience in similar positions, or other technical degree with at least 5 years software development experience.
