SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Fraternal Director, serves as a liaison to Local Councils working to improve visibility and involvement with parish and diocesan youth as well as assisting the Local Council with activities related to the activation and maintenance of Catholic Aid fraternal programs.

Duties:

Youth Focus:

*Serves as liaison between local councils, members and CAA staff on youth-related initiatives and goals.

*Maintains regular contact with council officers, youth ministers and youth staff in dioceses where CAA has a presence, Catholic faith-based groups and parish/school leadership.

*Works closely with CAA field reps to determine opportunities for visibility and involvement with youth members and potential members.

*Meets regularly with parish and school leaders to encourage involvement of young people in CAA-sponsored activities through councils or parish units.

*Serves as a contact for council youth liaisons and fraternal secretaries, providing direction and assistance in the development of Local Council youth activities. Generates greater definition to the youth liaison council officer role.

*Generates news items about youth for CA News and CA Web site.

*Responsible for administrative process of fraternal youth programs, specifically the Scholarship program, Student Life Benefit Program, Project: Multiply, Project: Volunteer and Project: Bonus and Bonus Plus.

Local Council Focus:

*Travels to CAA sales regions to meet with diocesan and parish officials, local council officers and field representatives concerning local council activities.

*Works with Marketing staff to generate publicity in local Catholic and news media to increase the visibility of Catholic Aid.

*Assists with training local council officers and members, prospective members and sales staff on fraternal programs.

*Assists with the analysis of annual reports from councils and completion of NFCA annual report.

*Reviews the planning and publicity for all fraternal programs, including Matching Grant, and Member Assistance.



Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s Degree and two to five years related experience and/or training in developing youth programs, youth ministry, volunteer administration or pastoral studies. Experience with public speaking in small and large (50) groups of varied ages. Previous work with youth outreach group, volunteer programs and parish or school-based organizations is desired.

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from local council officers, members, regional managers, field representatives, and the general public.

Proficiency in English (spoken and written) is required. Proficiency in Spanish is a plus but is not essential.
