Description: |
Responsible for performing a variety of duties related to the Employee Benefits Department. This position supports assigned Client Consultant(s) as a dedicated team member to provide service to a group of assigned employee benefits clients. As a member of the benefits team, the Client Manager II is responsible for adhering to the client’s customized benefits consulting service plan. Regularly provides account support on all employee benefits lines of business associated with the customer; daily servicing of accounts, by providing prompt, courteous and effective communication with clients, producers and insurance companies.
This is a temporary position and may last up to 6 months. |
Duties: |
| Assist Consultant in gathering necessary information regarding new and existing client benefit plans and submit information in RFP format to various carriers to obtain proposals; Review proposals from carriers for accuracy and completeness, coordinate adjustments as necessary with carriers. Make recommendations to the Consultant and insert final recommendation to the final proposal presentation and materials; Prepare client spreadsheets, reports, and PowerPoint presentations as needed; Prepares and develop exhibits for annual health and welfare plan renewals; Conduct client presentations and training on value-added tools and resources; Assist in developing client benefits strategy and coordinating the workflow between the benefits department staff, clients and insurance carriers; Handle day-to-day client service issues, including changes in coverage as requested/required by the client or carriers; Direct a smooth transition between insurance carriers as needed; Proof new policies/certificates of coverage for accuracy before client delivery; Update all accounts on the system when a change to a new carrier is made or a renewal is completed to maintain files; Maintain awareness of legal developments and/or changes with regulations related to insurance carriers and Federal and State laws affecting clients, policies and procedures to insure compliant administration of benefit programs. |
Qualifications: |
High School Diploma or the equivalent is required. A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is preferred. Current Life & Health Insurance license in assigned states is required as needed. Possess superior communication skills and knowledge of employee benefits issues necessary to effectively communicate with clients, insurance carriers and prospects concerning employee benefit lines of coverage. Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel is required, basic working knowledge of Power Point preferred. Strong organizational skills, detail oriented, responsive and self-motivated, works independently as well as part of a team. Follows direction, able to effectively prioritize work, successfully manage multiple projects and priorities proactively follow up and meet deadlines. Must possess adequate presentation and platform skills, effective project planning skills. Demonstrated ability to interact well in a team environment to insure delivery of exquisite customer service to clients. Problem solving skills; must possess excellent client service skills. Demonstrated ability to understand and interpret insurance contracts and terminology, data, renewal proposals and claim utilization reports. A valid driver’s license and access to an automobile for business purposes is required.
A minimum of five (5) years of successful experience in related positions including managing client accounts in an employee benefits environment is required.
