Description:

Sholom Community Alliance, one of the premier healthcare & senior services organizations in the Twin Cities, is seeking an experienced Administrative Assistant to work directly with our CFO on the Ackerberg campus in St. Louis Park. This campus is home to a broad continuum of care. Our community includes a 179 skilled nursing facility, an independent senior apartment building, an assisted living residence and a memory care pavilion.

Duties:

Examples of Work (A position may not include all the work examples given, nor does the list include all that may be assigned.)
  • Report directly to the CFO.
  • Screen and direct incoming phone calls.
  • Type and edit materials using knowledge of procedures and business etiquette to determine the proper format, questioning the author if something is obviously missing or incorrect. Distribute as appropriate.
  • Maintain organized, up-to-date filing systems.
  • Code, record, match, post, tally, verify and correct data in order to maintain accurate financial records, administrative records and mailing lists.
  • Attend meetings, taking notes and preparing minutes.
  • Perform related work as required.

Qualifications:

Knowledge of:
  • Record keeping systems sufficient to maintain administrative and fiscal data and to prepare reports.
  • General office practices and equipment.
  • Business English, correspondence formats, spelling and grammar sufficient to proofread materials and to ensure the accuracy and completeness of written communications.
  • In some positions, basic medical terminology.
Skill to:
  • Touch type accurately at a moderate or better speed, sometimes from dictation.
  • Perform basic math calculations.
  • Utilize word processing and spreadsheet software.
  • Ability to:
    • Commit to serving the elderly.
    • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
    • Work constructively with others.
    • Organize and prioritize one’s own work, often multi-tasking.
    • Maintain the confidentiality of private information.
