Description:

Clearfield has an opportunity in product management as a result of our growing product line and the deployment of broadband infrastructure funding. These are new positions that will work alongside our engineering, design and sales teams to manage simultaneous customer product lines from product release to end of life. Focus is on tactical execution from definition through successful release and transfe to operations in a manner that meets or exceeds company expectations for customer service and profitability..

Duties:

1. Manages product life cycle from release to end of life.

• Identify deliverables and owners (applications, supply chain, operations, marketing).
• Accepts handoff of tasks from Project Manager to assure that product release inter-dependencies transfer smoothly to applications, process development, and operations.
• Analyze problems and recommend solutions involving multiple elements of program planning.
2. Facilitate product rollout commitments to the sales organization and highlight issues that may cause schedule slip.

• Communicate project schedules and status at all levels of the organization
• Drive issue resolution and track action items.
• Identify and mitigate risks including key tradeoff decisions for the program
3. Ensure that Marketing requirements and objectives for the program are being addressed across all functional areas

• Support of advertising programs and sales collaterals to support brand strategy
• Coordinate product program activities with sales support material, meeting agendas, record meeting activity, and track action items.
• Develop product literature, drawings, and price lists
• Maintain correct and accurate content for company website
• Tradeshow strategy, deployment and related programs
• Agency/vendor management as appropriate
4. After product release

• Engage customers and manage customer expectations
• Transfer customer, sales, and marketing input into action items and follow through accordingly
• Identify and assist in implementing cost reductions.
• Maintain knowledge of industry and market developments and be alert to competitive information
• Recommend potential product enhancements
• Identify and recommend action plan to manage EOL issues.

Qualifications:

• Marketing, manufacturing, purchasing, product management, and P&L experience within the telecommunications industry.
• Experience with formal Product Lifecycle methodologies, in support of ISO compliance.
• Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
• Experience engaging customers and managing customer expectations.
• Strong aptitude to learn new technologies and utilize project management applications.
