General Objective:
The Sales Manager is fully responsible for leading, establishing, and mentoring an inside sales team to deliver sales results based upon pharmaceutical/healthcare client requirements. The overall function of this position is to build and maintain a positive business relationship with client while overseeing the development and launch of new product lines.
The SM will collaboratively work with colleagues, supervisors and organizational constituents to maximize sales goals and growth opportunities.

Able to strongly develop sales skills within team members
Understand national market dynamics within pharmaceutical and healthcare verticles, and analyze business opportunities and obstacles with an eye for team improvement; asses important regional accounts/customers to develop overall business strategy
Demonstrates ability to present and articulate business strategy thoroughly
Create an environment that will allow DSMs and IPSRs the ability to achieve and improve sales results
Maintain basic knowledge of client product line, disease states, competitors, client news, marketplace and managed care accounts
Manage resources strategically for maximum sales impact while identifying areas of opportunity.
Ability to mentor team members on consultative selling practices utilizing industry knowledge
Identify significant business opportunities and lead the development of the strategic plan
Motivate and inspire team to achieve results, with a constant focus on strong performance and quality execution
Establish strategic goals for district managers; assist with formulation of tactics for strategy execution.
Coach district managers in the practice of selective hiring, talent management, and development, and succession planning.
Anticipate client requests or conflicts and proactively problem solve within the realm of the contract.
Spend appropriate amount of time on the call floor with team members.
Freely share best practices.
Identify key performance indicators and assess skills of account specialists to meet/exceed expectations within client requirements.
Act as a contributing member of team to achieve sales objectives and performance metrics.
Understand the goals, vision and strategies of the client to maximize potential business opportunities.
Implement and monitor all corporate policies/procedures. |
Qualifications: |
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree (preferably in health sciences or health care-related field) .
Minimum 5-7 years of Pharmaceutical sales experience.
Strong verbal, written communication and listening skills.
Well-developed problem analysis and decision-making skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications, specifically Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Demonstrated effective organizational and communication skills.
Be results oriented with demonstrated time management skills.
Ability to learn, analyze, understand and convey complex information.
High level of business acumen.
Demonstrated successful sales ability in building strong results oriented teams preferably inside sales.
