Description: | | Responsible for the physical and asset security for all retail and corporate facilities, inventory shrinkage for the retail stores and the warehouses, training and awareness programs, store systems enhancement, and investigation and research of loss prevention issues. | Duties: | Responsible for the site security for the retail stores including, but not limited to the following: card, CCTV, and locking systems. In charge of special event safety and security arrangement.
Accountable for managing and directing all loss prevention activities and outcomes throughout the warehouse facilities located in the Atlanta and Chicago both directly and indirectly through the use of contractors, vendors, etc.
Investigates fixed asset shortages. Plans, designs, and monitors the inventory shrinkage-related programs for corporate and retail facilities. Maintains company shrinkage goals through the application of proper inventory control procedures.
Assists in the development of Loss Prevention related material for new store and corporate Team Members. Establishes communication and act as a liaison between corporate and the field Loss Prevention personnel. Helps with the training of all Loss Prevention personnel.
Develops new inventory control processes and procedures to enhance the productivity of store-level Inventory Control Coordinators and other store managers.
Develops, implements, and administers corporate and store Loss Prevention awareness programs to enhance store awareness of shrinkage and assets protection goals.
Indirectly supervises the quantitative performance of field loss prevention activities; this includes but is not limited to shrink, overs/shorts, chargeback, bad checks and collections; coordination, implementation and supervision of EAS activities and procedures; overseeing internal and external security protocols and policies; and representing field loss prevention to corporate customers and user departments.
Assists District Managers with inventory shrinkage concerns, and monitors their various business lines as they impact the company’s P&L. Reports and validate numbers reported by the ICC. Evaluates ICC performance as it relates to the bottom-line impact on the company P&L.
Overseas activities of the inventory control coordinators in their assigned stores; direct support flow and assists in training.
Trains store personnel in prevention and detection of potential loss.
Advises tore personnel in the proper criminal and civil procedures for apprehending and detaining employees and customers engaged in dishonest activity.
Assists stores in the preparation for an conduct of physical inventories
Monitor all physical controls including alarms, close circuit TV, and electronic article surveillance to maximize effectiveness.,
Analysis loses in physical inventories through interpretation of general ledger entries, inventory control reports, and other systems to his superiors.
Monitors and reports on significant loss trends to the Vice President of Operations.
Overseas the administration of charge back information, including chargeback for training and prevention, chargeback response, policy and procedures to reduce chargeback’s.
Negotiates with vendors to provide security solutions for CompUSA store merchandize mix.
| Qualifications: | EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology or related field, 7-8 years of Loss Prevention experience, or 10 years retail Loss Prevention experience in a multi-store environment; or an equivalent combination of education, experience and/or training.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common business journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from team members, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write prepare effective communications and memoranda. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Considerable discretion, judgment, tact and diplomacy is required as well as a practical knowledge of the practices and procedures of the area of assignment and general Company policies and procedures.
Frequent interface with intra- and inter-organizational contacts, customers, and public agencies; interpersonal skills necessary to effectively interface with all levels of personnel and work in a team environment.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Strong knowledge of POS systems, computer literacy and physical inventory process experience.
