Description: | Responsibilities: As a member of the Child Life Program, the Recreational Therapist will work with behavioral medicine therapists, child life specialists and volunteers in a children’s hospital/medical setting.
This therapist will plan, organize and direct a medically approved recreation program for pediatric patients.
Job duties will include organizing activities such as: group games, dramatics, music, and movement, and arts and crafts to help patients cope with hospitalization, adjust to acute/chronic health conditions, develop interpersonal relationships, socialize effectively, and reduce the effects of their medical conditions.
This recreational therapist will supervise volunteers, order supplies, schedule and manage and all playrooms.
Requirements: Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Recreational Therapy, CTRS preferred; experience with infants, children and adolescents who have acute or chronic health issues.
